Dysport and Xeomin are both botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators that temporarily reduce muscle activity responsible for expression lines. The biggest differences between dysport versus Xeomin and Botox are their formulations, dosing systems, and treatment timelines. All brands work—it comes down to the provider’s understanding of how to make the product work for your anatomy and desired results.
At Vitality Aesthetics, we carry Dysport and Xeomin, not Botox. Your provider can recommend a neuromodulator that will reduce the appearance of fine lines and help you feel like the best version of you.
If you’ve been researching wrinkle relaxers online, then you’ve probably come across Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. And, if you’ve done any digging into these products, you’re probably wondering: what’s the difference?
All of these treatments temporarily reduce muscle activity. They can all produce results that gradually appear and eventually wear off. They are great options for clients who want a conservative treatment plan that’s designed to soften expression lines without eliminating every bit of movement in the face.
Where they differ is on the technical side: their formulations, FDA-approved uses, dosing, and treatment timelines.
All three products — Dysport, Xeomin, and Botox — work by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that tell a muscle to contract. Less muscle movement means less repetitive folding of the skin, which is what softens lines like forehead creases, the “11s” between the brows, and crow’s feet. None of them add volume; they simply relax activity that’s already there.
Dysport (link to: Neuromodulators page) is often described as having a relatively quick onset, with some patients noticing softening within a few days of treatment, though individual timing varies. Its formulation spreads a bit differently in the tissue, which is one reason a provider may prefer it for larger muscle groups like the forehead.
Some patients may begin noticing a change within 24 hours. Manufacturer data report that more than half of clinical study participants saw improvement within two to three days.
Results appear gradually, and individual timing can vary.
For treatment of 11’s, Dysport results may last up to five months according to manufacturer clinical data. That doesn’t mean every patient will get five months from every treatment. Muscle activity, dose, individual response, and other factors can all affect how long results remain noticeable. Most patients at Vitality are happy with their results for up to four months. We typically schedule regular visits for Tox at four month intervals, however, you can always go longer between treatments if that works best for you personally.
Xeomin (link to: neuromodulators page) uses a purified formulation of the same toxin as Dysport, without the accessory proteins found in some other products. This means providers may consider it for patients who want a straightforward, single-protein option.
Xeomin is currently FDA approved to temporarily improve moderate-to-severe upper facial lines in adults, including:
Xeomin typically begins working within several days of treatment, although individual results vary. Results typically last approximately three to four months. Your own timeline may vary depending on the treatment area, dose, muscle activity, and individual response.
Botox Cosmetic — or onabotulinumtoxinA — is probably the best-known name in the category. It’s why many people use “Botox” as a catch-all term for any injectable wrinkle relaxer.
Botox is a legitimate, FDA-approved product widely used in aesthetics — it’s simply not one we’ve chosen to carry at Vitality Aesthetics. No matter which product is used-our providers can provide a more natural look if desired or create a tighter, longer lasting look if needed.

Onset and duration ranges above are general patterns reported for this drug class, not guarantees. Your provider will review current labeling and your history at your consultation.
The choice between Dysport or Xeomin isn’t about which one sounds newer or which one your friend used. That’s really the problem with trying to choose your treatment by brand name before your consultation.
Your provider may consider:
If you’ve had Dysport, Xeomin, Botox, or another neuromodulator before, tell your provider what you received and how the experience went. That history can be useful when planning your next treatment.
Choosing between Dysport or Xeomin is only one part of the treatment plan. Dose, placement, anatomy, muscle movement, and your desired level of movement all affect the final result. This is why your injector makes all the difference. Your provider can evaluate how your face moves and plan treatment around the result you want.
At Vitality Aesthetics, our approach is intentionally conservative. The goal is to help you look refreshed while preserving the expressions that make your face yours.
You don’t have to figure out your neuromodulator from a comparison chart.

Neither Dysport, Botox, or Xeomin is automatically “better” — they’re all FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A products with the same basic mechanism. The right fit depends on your muscle pattern, treatment area, and how you’ve responded to neuromodulators before, which is something to discuss at a consultation rather than decide from research alone. Vitality Aesthetics offers Dysport and Xeomin rather than Botox.
Many patients notice initial softening within a few days, with fuller results typically visible within one to two weeks as the neuromodulator fully takes effect across the treated muscle. Timing varies by individual, muscle strength, and dose, which is why your provider will walk through a personalized timeline at your consultation rather than promising a fixed number of days.
Like other neuromodulators, Xeomin’s effects are generally discussed in terms of months, with results gradually fading as muscle activity slowly returns to its normal pattern. Duration varies based on your dose, the muscle strength in the treated area, and individual metabolism, so your provider will set realistic, month-based expectations rather than a guaranteed timeline at your consultation.
No, Vitality Aesthetics does not offer Botox. Botox is the original neuromodulator that most are familiar with, but our patients tend to prefer Dysport and Xeomin over Botox. Primarily because the onset is quicker (within 2-3 days, versus 7 days or longer with Botox). Dysport also has a lighter molecular structure that offers broader spread, diffusing more widely and making it more ideal for zones like the forehead. Many of our patients feel like it gives them a much more natural, less “frozen” appearance.
Many patients do try both over time, and switching isn’t unusual. Your provider will factor in your treatment history, how your muscles responded previously, how long results lasted, and your current goals ,and treatment location when recommending which product makes the most sense for your next appointment.
Neuromodulators reduce targeted muscle activity, so the amount and location of treatment have a major effect on how much movement remains.Vitality Aesthetics takes a conservative approach designed around the individual, so that you always look like the most refreshed version of yourself.
